For the past 8 years, Semex has been proud to offer our valued customers access to top quality beef embryos from our elite Semex Beef Embryo herd. By combining some of the industry’s most noted and proven sires with the maternal strength and phenotypic correctness of our hand selected females, Semex continues to deliver the highest quality genetics to our customers. Ganadería El Colono Real in Guapiles, Costa Rica is another great example of how Semex Beef embryos can better assist our valued customers with their herd and breeding goals. Ganadería El Colono Real currently runs over 1,000 head focusing mainly on breeding purebred Red & Gray Brahman, as well as Nelore and Gyr cattle. They have had great success in the show ring throughout Central America and continue to do a lot of work on the farm with embryos and IVF. Ganadería El Colono Real were interested in adding Charolais cattle to their herd, so in 2012 they imported embryos from the Semex Beef Embryo Program and were extremely happy with the pregnancy rate. Spring 2014 EPDs are now out from both the Canadian Limousin Association and the North American Limousin Foundation. All the new numbers can now be found on the Semex Beef website, however here is a quick look at some of the Semex sire highlights:

More Spring 2014 EPDs continue to roll out! Both the Canadian and American Simmental Associations have posted their new Sring 2014 EPDs and all the new numbers can now be found on the Semex Beef website. Below is just a quick glance at some of the Semex sire highlights from this EPD round:

The 45th National Charolais Show took place this past Monday on January 20th at the 2014 National Western Stock Show. Kevin Jensen of Courtland, Kansas had the honours of judging this world class event and evaluated over 118 entries from 21 states. A special congratulations to Thomas Ranch, owners of TR Ms Allie 3606A! She was first crowned the Spring Calf Champion and later went on to be named the 2014 NWSS Grand Champion Charolais Female. Sired by TR PZC Mr Turton 0794 ET, she is extremely feminine with tonnes of shape and style. Other highlights included TR Cally's White Magic 2559Z, another Mr Turton female, that was named the Reserve Intermediate Champion and a JDJ Smokester J1377 P ET son, WC I'll Have Another ET, that was names Junior Champion Bull. Congratulations to all the exhibitors and breeders that took part in this years 45th National Charolais Show!
